Curd is a very popular dairy product that is produced by coagulating milk in a process called curdling. The bacteria used to make curd is called lactobacillus. The milk used to make curd is basically cow milk, as cow milk is commonly available. Curd can also be made from buffalo milk and goat milk.
Curd in Assamese is called Doi and in Hindi is called Dahi and is very popular across the Indian subcontinent.

Consuming curd can lead to many health benefits as curd ontains calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin B12, vitamin B2, good bacteria etc.

As curd contains lots of calcium, it can help maintain healthy bones and teeth. Vitamin B12 may helps in protecting hearth diseases. Manganese and potassium are the minerals that can help regulating blood sugar. Good bacteria helps in boosting health system and improve immune system.

In India generally clay pot or mud pot is used make curd. Mud pots are used for culinary purposes from ancient times. Using mud pot for preparing curd helps the curd to become more thicker and richer as mud or clay absorbs the excess water of curd. Here in this recipe I am also using a clay pot.  If you don't have a clay pot,  you can use a glass pot.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 1/2 cup plain curd
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar 
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder 
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips 
METHOD:
  1. In a bowl take plain curd. 
  2. Add cocoa powder and sugar. 
  3. With the help of a spoon mix everything well. 
  4. Keep in the deep freezer for 4-6 hours or overnight. 
  5. Before serving add chocolate chips. 
  6. Enjoy.

Water Hyacinth : The Most Amazing Vegetable I Found During My Visit To Tipam

 Food and travel go hand in hand. I always like to try new food, specially the local food whenever I travel. My recent visit to Tipam was not an amazing one in terms of testing food, as we didn't  find a good  eatery.
