Caramelized Pineapple Recipe

I made caramelized pineapple today. Pineapple is a tropical fruit with an incredibly delicious taste. It has many health benefits too. Pineapple originated from South America and during summer it is widely available in my place. Packed with various vitamins and minerals, pineapple can be consumed by making different recipes. It can be consumed raw as well as cooked, by making salsa, juice and many more.

Caramelized pineapple recipe is a very easy pineapple recipe. You only require just 3 ingredients to make this recipe: pineapple slices, sugar and butter. Here I used few basil leaves and Italian seasoning for an extra flavour. Try this recipe this Sunday and serve it as a dessert.

  • 1 pineapple 
  • 4 tbsp sugar 
  • 2 tbsp butter 
  • Few lemon basil leaves (optional) 
  • Pinch of Italian seasoning (optional) 

  1. Peel pineapple. Make round slices. You will get 5-6 pieces from a big pineapple. Remove core with a cutter. 
  2. Rub pineapple slices with sugar 
  3. Heat butter in a nonstick pan or tawa. 
  4. On high heat cook pineapple slices on pan for 2 minutes both sides or until golden brown. 
  5. Just before serving garnish with lemon basil leaves and sprinkle some Italian seasoning.
