Restaurant review : Dibarur Akhal
An Indian and Assamese ethnic restaurant that serves best Assamese thali in Dibrugarh.
The menu is not that big one but a unique of its kind that promises good things. The innovative menu can be divided into two parts. One is Indian food and the other that serves tradition Assamese food. So carving for Assamese food we started with Dibarur Assamese thali, which is a traditional veg Assamese thali. (Rs.115/-)
Served in a bell metal thali, steaming hot rice in the center along with eight different dishes served in bell metal bowls (except curd). Each and every bowl contained a different traditions Assamese dish. A bowl of khar recipe, as an Assamese meal begin with khar, followed by Assamese signature recipe pitika, Assamese people's favourite split black gram curry (mati dail), colocasia stem sabji, the medicinal plant skunk vine with chickpeas, black mustard chutney (kahudi/panitenga), pointed gourd and potatoes stir fried and curd.

Together with the thali we had tandoori chicken and hariyali chicken. Two good chicken items each with a different flavour and taste.
So Dibarur Akhal is a perfect family restaurant for testing Assamese cuisine as well as Indian cuisines. Good and friendly stuff, but the only bad is that it has a little space sitting that need to be more spacious.
