Easy Dhokla Recipe

Dhokla is a Gujarati recipe made from gram flour or besan. It is generally served as a snack. Here is a easy dhokla recipe I'm going to share today. Easy Dhokla Recipe 📎 Course :  Snack  📎Cuisine :  Indian/ Gujarati  đŸ”ĒPreparation Time : 1 hour    15 minutes ♨Cooking Time :  15 minutes 🕞Total : 1 hour 30 minutes INGREDIENTS: 1 cup besan (gram flour)  1 cup water or as required  1+ 1/2 tbsp lemon juice  1 pinch turmeric powder  1/3 tbsp cumin powder (jeera) 3/4 tbsp baking soda  1 tbsp refined vegetable oil  1 tsp mustard seeds  2 sliced green chillies  12-15 curry leaves  Salt to taste  METHOD: In a large bowl take gram flour.  Add 1/2 tsp of salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, baking soda and lemon juice.  Add water and mix all the ingredients well.  Allow the batter to ferment for 1 hour.  After one hour grease the utensil with oil. Stuffed Chilli Peppers

Stuffed chilli peppers are long green chilli peppers filled with spicy potato stuffing. These are my personal favorite.  You can serve these as a snack or as a side dish with rice. Biscuit Cake | Leftover Biscuits Cake

This recipe is also available in  Assamese(āĻ…āĻ¸āĻŽীā§Ÿা). Biscuit cake is a very simple cake recipe.  You can use any biscuit of your choice.  Here I have used leftover broken biscuits to make this delicious leftover biscuits cake. In a large bowl beat eggs.  Add unsalted butter or vegetable oil. Mix well.  Add biscuit powder, maida, baking powder, powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Assamese Til aru Bora Saulor Tel Pitha (Sticky Rice and Black Sesame Seeds Fritters)

Tel pitha  also known as Ghila pitha  are made during Bihu festivals of Assam.  Here "tel" means oil and "pitha" means dumplings or fritters made from rice(bora saul).   So "tel pitha" means rice fritters made in oil. Tel pitha can be sweet or savory.  Here in this recipe I'm using jaggery or "gur"  to make  sweetened rice fritters.  These tel pitha are made from sticky rice batter. Assamese Style Heart Leaves Cooked in Banana Leaf (Mosondori Patot Diya)

Mosondori leaves are known as heart leaves because of its heart shape. Modondori have many  medicinal value  and are used as a vegetable in Assamese cuisine. Today I'm going to share a simple recipe of mosondori. Mosondori patot diya or heart leaves cooked in banana leaf. Serve this recipe as a side dish with rice. Goru Bihu Festival of Assam

Bihu  is the main  festival of Assam.  Bihu is observed thrice a year.  Bohag Bihu  or  Rongali Bihu  is celebrated in the month of April every year. The first day of bohag bihu is observed on 14th April which is the last day of Assamese calendar or last day of Assamese  chot mah.  The first day of bohag bihu is called  Goru Bihu.   Goru means cow. So that day is the bihu of cows and buffaloes. This homemade mustard sauce is very easy to prepare.  You can serve this easy mustard sauce as a sauce and also as a dip with fritters.
