Pressure cooker bread and biscuit pudding recipe


No one can deny that everyone has two pieces of  bread left in the bread bin which you will throw up in the dustbin next morning. Similarly you may also have few broken pieces of biscuits left in the biscuit container. So you can make this delicious  bread and biscuit pudding in just a few minutes from those leftover breads and biscuit pieces.

Bread and biscuit pudding is an old fashioned pudding recipe everyone surely has tasted during childhood. It can be served as a dessert or in the evening with tea.  It can be prepared with just a minimum ingredients and the good thing is that it can be prepared in just a few minutes in a pressure cooker.  You can also use oven for making this recipe.  But using pressure cooker saves time.


Pressure cooker bread and biscuit pudding recipe :

A simple and easy steamed bread and biscuit pudding which can be prepared without oven,  in a pressure cooker. 

Ingredients :

• 4 pieces of bread 
• 1 cup broken biscuit pieces 
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup of milk 
• 1/4 cup of raisins 
• 2 tbsp butter 
• 2 tbsp sugar or as per the taste 


Method :

Make pieces of bread. Keep aside 

Heat milk . Add sugar.  Mix well. 
Now add egg and beat properly . Add melted butter.  Now beat the liquid until everything gets incorporated well. 

Now in a round baking tin place the bread pieces and broken biscuit pieces.

Pour the liquid over it and add the raisins.



In a pressure cooker add 2 cups of water.  Place the baking tin inside the cooker carefully.

Close the lid and in medium heat cook for 2 whistles.

Remove from heat. Let the pressure releases and open the cooker itself.


You can serve it hot or you can cool and refrigerate it for two hours for better taste .

Discard the remaining. Transfer the liquid into ice lolly  molds.Freeze until solid.

I'm using medium hot Indian variety of  green chillies for making this Instant pickle. Green chillies are dipped into the mustard seeds' paste and the use of vinegar makes the pickle sour to taste. You can serve this pickle with rice or roti (Indian bread)  as a side dish,  but I like to have this pickle with fritters (pakoras) too.

Easy Fish Curry Recipe

This recipe is for my those blog followers (specially from US)  who has a temptation for Indian fish curry. This recipe need not much afford and can easily prepare with simple ingredients. Indian recipes needs much afford as it requires different spices to prepare and US people hardly store so many Indian spices in their kitchen. In this recipe I'm using tomato based pizza or pasta sauce together with mustard seeds' paste.  You can use any ready made pizza sauce and mustard paste or if you like you can make it yourself. Here I'm using ready-made pizza sauce but I made mustard seeds' paste myself . For mustard seeds' paste I'm using yellow mustard seeds. Yellow mustard seeds are less bitter than black mustard seeds. Bottle Gourd ( Lauki) Kofta Curry Recipe

Bottle gourd is also known as lauki in Hindi and lau in Assamese, is a versatile vegetable that contains almost 96% of water. Bottle gourd is perfect for juice extraction but it is used in making many different recipes in Indian cuisine. Bottle gourd pakoras, kofta curry, sabji, halwa, thepla are some of the famous bottle gourd recipes of Indian cuisine. Bottle gourd kofta curry or Lauki kofta curry is a light tomato based spicy curry dunked with koftas made from bottle gourd.

 Well a Kofta is a savory ball made from minced meat or vegetables.

Bottle gourd is one of my personal favorite vegetable and I often make simple bottle gourd sabji or sometimes fish curry with bottle gourd. I become lazy these days in doing experiments in my kitchen because of taking care of my two little kids.
