Raw tomato chutney / Green tomato chutney

Raw tomatoes or green tomatoes  are the tomatoes which are unripe or still green in colour. Raw Tomatoes contains antioxidant and vitamin C which is good for health. Here in this post I'm going to share two raw tomatoes or green tomatoes chutney  which can be served as a side dish with steamed rice. 


Green tomatoes chutney with mustard seeds paste :

INGREDIENTS:

2 green tomatoes2-3 green chillies 1/3 tbsp nigella  seeds ( Kala jeera) 1/3 tbsp cumin powder 1/3 tbsp red chilli powder 1/3 tbsp turmeric powder 1 bay leaf2 tbsp yellow mustard seeds 1-2 tbsp mustard oil little chopped coriander leaves salt to taste 

METHOD:

Soak yellow mustard seeds in warm water for at least half an hour. Drain and make a fine paste. Keep aside. Wash green tomatoes under running water . Chop roughly. In a pan heat mustard oil. Air, water, food and shelter are the four basic needs of a human being to survive.  Water plays an important role in human lives.  There is no shortage of water on earth.  Most of our planet is covered by water , but a very little of that water is available for humans to drink.

About 70% of the Earth's surface is covered by water but all these water are not safe for drinking purposes . Fresh and clean water is a limited resource. Only 2.5% of that total 70% water is fresh but only 1% of the total water resources on Earth are available for human use.

There are about 7.6 billion human beings living on Earth . Every human being need gallons of water everyday for their different uses like bathing,  washing clothes,  cooking etc. Above all a human body needs half a gallon of water everyday which equals to 2 liters of water. Which means 15.2 billion litters of pure and clean drinking water are required everyday on Earth to fulfill the thrust of 7.6 billion people.

Kidney beans curry recipe

Kidney beans or Rajma are very popular in India . It's a good meat substitute for vegetarians. Kidney beans are little black and red in colour and of kidney shapes . These beans have lots of vitamins and nutrients.  Kidney beans curry is a simple recipe to serve as a side dish with steamed rice or roti (Indian bread) .

Ingredients :
2 cups kidney beans1 big onion, chopped1 tomato, chopped2 cloves of garlic, chopped1 little piece of ginger, chopped1/2 tsp cumin powder1/2 tsp coriander powder1/2 tsp red chilli powder1/2 tsp turmeric powder1/2 tsp garam masala powder2 tbsp oil1/3 cup chopped coriander leaves2 tbsp creamSalt to taste

Method:

Soak kidney beans in enough water for 4 hours. Drain and wash under running water. In a pressure cooker take the kidney beans. Add 2-3 cups of water. In high heat cook for 2-3  whistles  . How to Roll Papad

Papad is also called Papadum. The papad is a thin round shaped Indian food which becomes crispy like chips after cooking.
Papad is usually made from different lentils. There are different varieties and sizes of papad available in the market. Papad can be either fried or roasted.

Papad is served as an accompaniment to an Indian meal as a   snack or as a starter.
